So you have a good idea of what your home's worth, but whom should you hire to do the job to ensure you get full market value in a timely manner? When interviewing agents to list your home and market it, and represent you and your best interests, make sure they have the experience necessary to correctly price your home, and the resources to effectively market your home. Don't make a decision based on who gives you the price. Some agents will tell you what they think you want to hear, or tell you they can get more for your house than they really can to simply get the listings. We call this buying a listing. They'll take the listing above the homes true market value and turn around in 3 - 4 weeks and tell you need to lower the asking price because you're not getting showings, or you getting showings and no offers.
