De-clutter your house:
When people come
through and look at your house as a potential home for them, one thing they're going to look for is
to make sure the home offers ample room and storage for their stuff. A
house that is over flowing with furniture, and closets and drawers packed full
makes the house appear to be lacking in space and storage.
The kitchen is a great place for clutter
to accumulate. Clean off counter tops and the kitchen table. Things
that aren't used on a regular basis such as crock-pots, mixers, etc. should be
put away. Also put away out of season items such as rakes, and shovels.
Clean out closets and put away out of season clothes, coats, boots, etc.
Don't put all this stuff in boxes and pile
it in a corner in the basement or garage. Rent a small storage unit and
keep it there for a month or two until the house sells.
Depersonalize your house:
One of the biggest objectives you need to
ever come is getting potential buyers to be able to see them selves in the house
as their home. When people come in and see pictures of you and your
family, it's much harder for them to visualize their selves in the house with
their family and belongings.
Put away family photos, wedding pictures,
and other personal items to try and depersonalize the house as much as possible.
